Backpacking // Do All Things With Love

Backpacking the Beartooth Plateau

I need wilderness in my life like I need oxygen. It’s been like this since my first real taste of the wilderness at the tender young age of 16. It was a two-week high alpine backpacking course with Outward Bound.  The trip changed how I perceived the world at the time. It was thrilling, frightening, uncomfortable, freeing, and beautiful.  Read the rest of this entry »

Absaroka Mountains // Do All Things With Love

This weekend was my last in Montana, so Onur and I decided to take a little vacation.  Due to car problems we rented a really awesome car (talk about luxury!!) Drove down to Chico Hot Springs in Paradise Valley, stayed on Friday night and then spent Saturday exploring in Yellowstone.

Spring on the M Trail // Do All Things With Love

In Montana, spring is merely the second phase of winter. The spring equinox was back in March, however it is now mid-April and nighttime temperatures still drop below freezing every night. It snowed earlier this week and we expect more this weekend. Sometimes it warms up during the afternoons, and today it got above 50 degrees! I decided it was time to go for a hike up the M Trail.

Dec 31 // Do All Things With Love

Dec 31 // Do All Things With Love

I think that 2011 was by far one of my worst years on record, for many reasons. Too much stress, I was extremely unhappy and had some people in my life that really shouldn’t have been in it. I vowed to myself at the beginning of 2012 to make it a better year. To shake things up and try for some real happiness. It took a lot of love and support from a few close people to make it through the first few months, and I couldn’t have done it without you guys.

24 Dec // Do All Things With Love

For Christmas eve we had dinner with our good friends and their 8 month-old son. It was both Graham and Onur’s first Christmas eve so we decided to read The Night Before Christmas together. They both opened their first presents and both got new PJs. 🙂 Hm, I wonder how that happened?

23 Dec Dessert // Do All Things With Love

This week we had the pleasure of celebrating the holidays with some of my family that lives in Montana.  We all went to Chico Hot Springs for an evening soak and beautiful dinner.  If  you ever visit SW Montana, visiting Chico is a must.  The pools are wonderful, even if it’s 19 degrees outside.  The hotel is charming and the food is very nice.

The restaurant is famous for their Orange Flambe, which they have been making for over 40 years.

22 Dec Sunset // Do All Things With Love

This week the highs are around 20 degrees F, and lows will reach about 7 degrees. Still, we get sunshine. And as long as I have my down coat, I could live on sunshine forever.
