Archives for the month of: September, 2012

I’m late posting this week because I am super busy right now trying to get my thesis finished up, as well as showing our house 150 times this week (not really, it just feels like that much..) and trying to keep everything else together.

Anyways, I promise this will be quick (and easy). A favorite recipe from family friends:

This is a quick post – I just have to share this picture.

This is my favorite thing to see in the kitchen – overflowing bowls of fresh vegetables.  This was our latest shopping trip, and groceries for the week. I think the only other things we bought was some soy yogurt, pita bread and fresh meat.

Late summer is a great time to get a hold of Zucchini.  If you have some in your garden, awesome.  If you are like me and don’t have a garden (yet!), then ask coworkers, neighbors, etc.  They will most likely already be trying to get rid of excess this time of year.  This last week I was gifted two very LARGE zucchini.  Onur laughed at my glee.  Silly man, I will make you eat all of the summer squash now.

This week I will share recipes for:
– Old-fashioned Oatmeal with apples, rasins, and honey-toasted walnuts
– Zucchini “Pasta”
– Minestrone Soup
– Carrot & Zucchini Bars or Cupcakes

But not having any suitable mugs at the time, I put it out of my mind and went about my life. A month ago I was in Cost Plus World Market and saw these cute white stackable mugs. But They were $19.99 and I wasn’t ready to shell out that kind of cash. As luck would have it I went back a week later for something else and saw a set of them in the clearance section for $5! Score. The set was missing one mug, but I was able to stick a piece of cardboard in the bottom and you can’t even tell it is a mug short!

which is my work,
which is mostly standing still and learning to be astonished.
